Is there more than one St. Patrick’s in DC?
Yes! The wedding is at the Episcopal church and day school at 4700 Whitehaven Parkway NW, between Foxhall Road and MacArthur Boulevard—not to be confused with the Catholic church in downtown DC.
What time should I arrive at the church?
Please plan to arrive between 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. so that you can be seated before the ceremony begins. The ceremony will start promptly at 3:30.
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire. The church does not have any specific requirements about dress.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the parking lot east of the church, in the diagonal spots extending up the hill to Foxhall Road, and on the street. If these spaces are all filled, there is an underground parking lot to the west of the church, closer to McArthur Blvd. Please do not park in front of the church or courtyard as we need this space for the limos and busses.
Is the metro nearby?
No, there is no metro service to the church. Uber and Lyft are your best bet if you aren’t driving yourself.
May I take photos at the ceremony?
We ask you to put your phones and cameras away when you enter the church and be fully present with us as we take our vows. There will be plenty of great photo ops at the reception!
Will there be a bus to the reception?
Yes, there will be shuttle buses available to take guests to the reception. The reception will be at St. Francis Hall, which is about 30 minutes from the church, near Catholic University.
After the ceremony, the wedding party will depart to the reception site for photographs. Guests are invited to proceed to the church’s Great Hall for light refreshments, then look for a reception host to direct you to the buses. They will depart between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m.
How do I get back?
Shuttle buses will leave at the end of the reception (11:00 p.m.) and drop guests back at the church or at the Yours Truly hotel (in the West End neighborhood between Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom), which is very close to the other two hotels at which we have blocked rooms. (See Travel for more information on blocked rooms—click here.)
The return trip to the hotels is about 25 minutes, and then another 10 to the church. There will be only one departure from the reception, at its close.
Uber and Lyft are also available at any time.
What if I drive myself?
There is plenty of parking, open to guests of the wedding, both across the street from St. Francis Hall and behind it. You may leave your car parked there overnight should you decide to take other transportation home.
Is there an after-party?
A formal after-party is not scheduled as the bride and groom will leave directly from the reception. But feel free to carry the party forward on your own. Gather at one of the hotel bars or a favorite haunt in Georgetown or Dupont Circle.
May I bring a plus one?
Space is limited so we are not able to invite plus ones for all of our friends. When you RSVP, please do so only for the people on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding.
Are children invited?
While we love your children, our wedding is adults-only. We kindly ask that you come celebrate with us without your young children.
If you have any other questions or we can help make your stay more comfortable, please reach out.
